The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce to-night passed the following resolution: "That owing to the large increase in the value of import© a© quoted in th©. Abstract of Statistic© dated October 26, and the automatic increase in revenue from Customs duty, this chamber .is of opinion that further collection of the additional 1 per cent, primage duty is not now necessary, and urges the Government to remove the charge at th© earliest possible moment.”
