WAILING CAT SAVES FAMILY
BLAZE IN AUCKLAND COTTAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Aseoclatlon. Auckland, November 11. A wailing cat gave the alarm when a four-roomed cottage at the corner of Panmure and Ferndale Roads was on fire early this morning. H. W. Hawthorne, his wife, and three children, awoke to escape just before the whole place was enveloped by the flames. Hawthorne found the back part of tlie cottage blazing, and thick smoke -sweeping through the rooms. With the greatest difficulty he carried out the halfawake’ children.
