GRANDSTAND FOR TENNIS

LOAN BY THE ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Dominion Council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association met tonight and approved a loan of £5OO to the Wellington Association for the purpose of providing a grandstand on the association’s courts at Miramar. The Canterbury delegation were the only opponents to the proposal. The chairman of the council (Mr. A. G. Henderson) stated that the constitution had been amended to enable the parent body to lend trust moneys with pr without security.

A presentation of a silver entree dish was made to Mr. W. J. Melody, in recognition of his services to tennis.
