RIFLE SHOOTING

CADETS AND LEGIONARIES. INTER-PLATOON COMPETITION. , Representatives from each platoon of the C Company Cadets on Saturday evening shot for the Legion Cup,. which was presented to the company by the Legion of Frontiersmen for competition by the platoons. After a keen competition the cup was won by No. 4 platoon gaining 269 points, closely followed by No. 2 platoon with 257 pointe, No. 1 platoon with 215 pointe, and No. 3 platoon with 212 points. Following this a number of cadets competed against a team arranged by the legion men, the result being a win for the cadets by 101 to 85. During the evening fine shooting was displayed when Captain G. H. Weir and SecondLieutenant S. F. Hartnell contested for the highest number of consecutive bulls, the former gaining 34 and the latter 2-1. After the shooting a very enjoyable supper wag provided by the community club ladies. The cadets are showiifg great interest in shooting and will be shortly shooting for the °Weekly Press and Kebble Shields. The detailed results are:— Cadets.—Sgt. Q. L. Prestidge 16; ( Cadet F.
