.SEVENTEEN IN CONSOLATION • A field of seventeen lined up for the consolation race of the New Plymouth Harriers’ Club on.‘Saturday afternoon: ; Conditions for racing were good, but Tlie heat made the long race rather trying. Walsham was first past the judges, but the first and second cons’olation prices were won by Capon and Mackay. 'The race was run over a Course of six miles. At the end of the first lap the limit men were slightly in the lead, VValsham following closely, But the latter runner was first to head for home on the last lap and finishing strongly won well from Eaddy and Stewart, with a break of nearly a furlong to Brown and Capon. The results are; — Walsham, 42min 44sec 1 Eaddy, 42min 52sec Stewart, 43min Isec 3 Brown, 43min 50sec 4 Capon, 44min 12sec 5 Thompson jun. 44min 29sec 6 Hunter, 46min 18sec 7 Head, 46min 21sec 8 Greenlees, 46min 22see ® Mackay, 48min 20sec • • •
