ILLUMINATED AIRWAY
CHAIN OF FLASHING BEACONS. London, Oct 3. The lighting up of the Brussels-Ostend section completes* the last link of an illuminated airway stretching 1000 miles from London to Konigs'berg, 338 miles aorth-east of Berlin. A chain of flashing beacons and aerial lighthouses to guide night fliers covers the entire rpute. The aerodromes are equipped with night landing facilities, and a nightly mail service by air liners that will save 24 hours will open between Brussels and London on Nevem'ber ]. The service will extend into Germany when the nevv triple-screw Fokker’’•Jupiter air liners are delivered.
