EARLY CROP OF LIBEL CHARGES. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. * Received Oct. 3, 7 p.m. Sydney Oct. 3. Supreme Court writs arising out of the Federal election campaing were issued to-day on behalf of Union Theatres Ltd against the Sydney Morning Herald, claiming £lOOO for alleged libel. Others, claiming f5OOO for alleged slander, were against Archdale Parkhill, Nationalist candidate for Warringah, Arthur Manning, Nationalist candidate for Wentworth, and 11. W. Horsfield, general secretary to the Nationalist Association.
