CIVIL SERVICE SALARY CUTS

REQUESTS FOR REINSTATEMENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation from the Civil Service Association waited on the Prime Minister to-day to urge that the “cuts” imposed under the Public Expenditure Adjustment Act should be restored to members of the service. Later, members of Parliament representing the different political parties interviewed Sir Joseph Ward on tho same subject, but with particular reference to the P. and T. service. Both deputations were held in private, but it was stated subsequently that a statement on the subject would be made by tho Prime Minister in the House of Representatives in duo course.
