The mild weather early last week had a beneficial effect on the growth of pastures and on the milk- yield. The cold spell at the end of the week, caused a set-back. With the mild conditions prevailing again this week the pastures ‘and the milk supply have again shown a marked improvement. In tho coastal districts the spring is much later this year than was the case last year, and in the majority of dairy factories the output to the end of September shows a decrease. Inland, however, the output is reported to be practically on a par with the early part’ of last season, and in some cases the supply is said to actually show an increase.
