COTTON TRADE SETTLEMENT
MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, August 16. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, in a special message to the Daily Herald welcoming the end of the cotton lock-out, states: “Peace and co-operation are essential. The workers must feel that their interests are not being sacrificed. After all, we work to live, not any kind of life, but to live decently. The coal industry was allowed to be torn by senseless rivalry and competition. I now hope that the coal industry will bo prepared to put new energy and new spirit into the solution of its difficulties.” A RBITRATORS APPOINTED. Received Aug. 19, 11.30 p’m. London, Aug. 18. The Board of Arbitration to consider the cotton dispute consists of Sir Rigby Swift, Sir Arthur Balfour, Mr. 6. T. Cramp, Sir Archibald Ross, and Mr. A. G. Walkdcn. They expect to commence sitting on August 21.
