Addressing the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Herbert Brookes, the Australian Commissioner General in the United States, criticised legislation which tended to hurt trade relations between the two commonwealths. “Australia is getting a bad deal, so bad that it cannot continue," he said. “It seems to me that American business men should concern themselves with this condition of trade, and I have found they are doing so on the Pacific Coast.
