BULK PETROL STORES
QUESTION OF PIPE LINE. Subject to the formal consent of the inspector of explosives being obtained, the general arrangement plan submitted by the Texas Company (Australa : a), Ltd., of their bulk petrol installation at Paritutu Road, off Ngamotu Road, was approved by the New Plymouth Borough Council last night. The works committee said that while it was unable definitely to fix the rout© for the pipe line, it recommended th© terms of the license, exclusive of the route, be in accordance generally with the terms granted to the Atlantic. Union Oil Company, including tho conditions that th© company should, whether the negotiations are finalised or not, pay the costs of preparing the draft deed of license, and the costs of all surveys and plans mad© or to be made by the borough engineer in connection ' with tho license or th© negotiations therefor.
The company will be notified that un til the route of its pip© line has been definitely fixed and the terms of the license agreed to by both parties, the counZl will not be in a position to give a formal decision on the application for a license or to consider the special order required by tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1920. The question of definitely fixing the route of the pip© line was referred to the works committee with power to act, j the company to submit a satisfactory plan of. ths proposed route.
