FATAL MOTOR TRUCK SMASH
CHILD CRUSHED IN SOMERSAULT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Cambridge, July 24. A fatality occurred on the main Maungatutau Road, about seven miles from Cambridge, when a light motor truck, owned by A. W. Head and driven by his son Cyril, with whom were a younger brother, Willouby John, and a sister, Irene, skidded in loose sand at tho bottom of a hill, crossed the road and crashed through a fence. After completely somersaulting it was pulled up by the driver, who, with his sister, remained in the seat throughout.
Willouby John Head, aged 13, was thrown out and killed, apparently as a result of the truck passing over him when it somersaulted. Death was instantaneous. The other two occupants had a miraculous escape,, as the truck was pulled up near the brink of a precipice.
