REPRESENTATION OF PARTIES. (By Mire —Parliamentary Reporter.}. • . Wellington, Last Night. M hen the Prime Minister gave notice to-day for the setting up of a public accounts committee consisting of twelve members, the Leader of the Opposition,Mr. J. G. Coates, raised a point of order on the ground that the Opposition should have another member on the committee, Mr. Coates said the arrangement for committees to which ten members were to be. appointed was that there should be five Government, three Opposition and two other members. He thought, therefore, that in the case of.the Accounts Committee another Opposition member, shuold be appointed, seeing that the committee was. to consist of.twelve members.. He thought the Government should have a majority on committees’ despite the peculiar state of the parties in the House. The Prime Minister stated lie would . have another member of the Opposition appointed to meet the point raised by Mr. Coates.
