Of course, several of the horses mentioned were not trained at Awapnni all the time, but sufficiently long (at all events) to be classed as hailing from that centre. Between 80 and 100 horses are in training there, and their stake winnings this season amount to £23,570 10s.

■ Mister 'Gamp, "winner of the Century and Great' Northern Hurdles, tops the list with£2l7o, ’ ut is closely followed by the two-year-old Gay Ballerina, whose earnings amounted to £2lOO. Then there is a drop to Blimp, whose late summer victories accounted for £1175. Keddar, with £ll6O, also went over four figures. The veteran Novar won ' £B7O, Locarno £844, Elicit £765, Callanmore £717, Home Made £705, Otairi £6BO, Mouton Treasury £620, Atareria £598, Vexatious £590, Dobbin £575, Rangi Sarto £520 and Red Bank, £5lO.

Mr. W. H. Gaisford, who races a good team, heads the winning owners with £2428. Mr. E. W. Collins, thanks to Mister Gamp, follows with £2170, and Gay Ballerina’s Australian owner, Mr. H. G. Fitzpatrick, comes next with £2lOO. Mr. C. F. Vallance won £1349, Dr. M. G. Louisson £1175, Mr. G. E. Trevor £ll6O, and Mr. C. T. Keeble £lOOO.

Trainer J.. P. Coyle hae had a great innings, turning out winners of £6455. Geo. New, who topped the New Zealand list last year, has not done so well, his tally being £3612 10s. G. Jones £3225, L.
