Sir John Tilley, British Ambassador at Tokio, has been made a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, Lord Airlie, Rear-Admiral Meade and Major-General Sir Hugh Ellis, have been made Knights Commander, and Hugh Lloyd Thomas has become a commander in the same order on the occasion of the recent mission of the Duke of Gloucester to Japan to invest the Emperor with the Order of the Garter.
