MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
ANOTHER GRAVELY INJURED NEW PLYMOUTH BOYS IN SMASH. MACHINE STRIKES MOTOR-LORRY. One young man named Cecil Francis (“Sandy”) Brenmuhl was killed and another, Laurence Sheehy, both of New Plymouth, is lying unconscious and dangerously ill in the New. Plymouth hoflpital as the result of th© motor-cycle they were riding cn Saturday afternoon crashing into the rear of a motor-lorry. The accident occurred shortly after midday when Brenmuhl and Sheehy were riding to Stratford. About two and flhalf miles past Inglewood a motor-lorry, driven by R. Thomason, was backing out of Marshall’s gateway at Maketawa when Brenmuhl and Sheehy etruek it. The rider of the cycle, Brenmuhl, re- x ceived the full force of the impact and was killed almos’ instantaneously, Sheehy, who was on the pillion, suffered concussion and injuries to the head and was rendered unconscious. He was re-in-ved in the ambulance to .the New Plymouth hospital, where he was reported last night to be still unconscious and in a critical condition. An inquest was opened yesterday into the death of Brenmuhl, and after evidence of identification, was adjourned sine die. i.
