APPRECIATION OF SERVICES.

RETIREMENT OF MR. A. J. GLASSON

Appreciation of the way Mr. A. J. Glasson, a representative of the Department of Agriculture at Hawera for many years, had worked with the Education Board instructors was expressed by Mr. R. G. Ridling, senior instructor in agriculture of the Taranaki . Education Board in North Taranaki, when speaking at the annual meeting of the South Taranaki Boys’ and Girls’ Club movement in Hawera on Saturday. Mr. Glasson had worked as an enthusiast for many years and it had been a pleasure to work with him. Messrs. A. J. Betts, R. Syme, E. K. Cameron and A. G. Johnston endorsed Mr. Ridling’s eulogy of Mr. Glasson with additional points of view. A very hearty vote of thanks and appreciation was carried by acclamation. . . It was one of his regrets on retiring that he was severing his connection with the work and men he had been, associated with, said Mr. Glasson in response. It had been a work of pleasure and love for him and he agreed with every word Mr. Ridling had spoken against allowing the children’s agricultural clubs to disintegrate.
