HURFORD ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of the hall society was held on Monday night, Mr. R, D. Spence presiding. It was decided to hold a long night dairne instead of a euchre party and dance on Thursday, August 1. Mr. C. Bond has donated 51bs of tea for a euchre prize and Mr. Zumbach 50 trees. It was decided to play for these during the following fortnight. Those who are milking and have not conditions as good as they would like, find difficulty in evading the mud. The weather has. been anything but favourable for feeding out to dry stock. Cows are starting to come in again, and from now till the middle of next month will see a big increase in the cream supply. The bobby calf collector is around once more, but up to’ the present his services are not in great demand.
There were 18 tables at euchre on Thursday night, this being the last night for the aggregate prizes which were won by Mrs, Reynolds, 54j games, and Mrs. Spence, second, 52$ games. Mr. McKoy won the men’s with 60J games, and Mr. F. Seamark 56 games. Prizes for the night were won by Miss AL Stobie (Tataraimaka), 18 games, and Mr. F. Seamark 12J games. The hall was well filled for the O.ance which followed, music for which was supplied by Airs. Reynolds. Air. Reynolds acted as ALL,
