DEATH OF MASTER BUILDER
MR. H. B. JONES, NEW PLYMOUTH The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Henry Jenjamin Jones, New Plymouth. Born in London in 1860, Mr. Jones came to New Zealand in the Merope when he was 12 years of age. His parents settled in Christchurch, and after attending the Richmond school he was apprenticed to the building trade. Later he went across to the West Coast, where for many years he was associated with Mr. Keethley, of Christchurch. During this period they were both engaged in building construction work in connection with the railways. In his younger days Mr. Jones was a very keen cricketer. Seven years ago he came to New Plymouth, and though leading a retired life, he took an interest in the firm of Jones and Sandford. Mr. Jones is survived by two .sons, Messrs. "W. H. and K. W- Jones, New Plymouth, and a daughter, Mrs. A. M. Brown, Christchurch.
