SUCCESSFUL EUCHRE PARTY HELD (From Our Own Correspondent.)' The usual fortnightly euchre- party and dance was held on Friday, July 12, but owing to the rather boisterous evening there was not a very large attendance, about ten tables being in use. Miss E. G. Thomson won the ladies’ prize with twelve out of sixteen games, and Mr. Son Jones captured the men’s prize with ten and a-hftlf games to his credit. The lucky numbers were won by Mrs. Bell and Mr, Ern Jones. After the euchre games dancing was indulged in for a couple of hours to music supplied locally, There is general regret that our local factory manager, Mr. W. P. Jones, is an inmate of a private hospital in New Plymouth suffering from pneumonia, and all wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. G. Charman and Mr. L. Charman, Wellington, were the guests of Mr. and Airs. A. Alpe for the week-end. Mrs. J. Smith, accompanied by Mrs. J. Guild, spent the week-end at Stratford.
