SUBSIDENCE IN VICTORIA WEIR. DESPERATE EFFORTS TO REPAIR. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Melbourne, July 17. Desperate efforts are being made to fill in a great subsidence in the bank of Sugar Loaf Weir. Should floods cause a break .an immense body of water will plunge down the Goulburn valley, endangering people’s lives. Three hundred men are at present employed repairing the damage, the cost of which will be at least £250,000.
