TWO TARANAKI PLAYERS CHOSEN.

The following team has been selected to represent New Zealand in the first test match against the Australian hockey team to be played at Wanganui on August 27: — Goal: F. Cowles (Timaru). Backs: L. Spiers (Waipa), T. H. Pickard (Dannevirke). Halves: N. Hansen (Manawatu), B. Morris (Otago), M. Brookes (Geraldine). Right wing: N. Robinson (Dannevirke). Inside right: K. Pennington (Taranaki). Centre forward: E. L. Heywood (Marlborough). Inside left: W. T. Thrush (’Wanganui). Left wing: S. Betts (Taranaki). The emergencies have yet to be selected. Pennington plays for Eltham and Bette for Kaponga.
