THIEVES VISIT HOTELS
£l7 IN MONEY SECURED. NEW PLYMOUTH BURGLARIES. Burglars visited the Terminus and Grosvenor Hotels, New Plymouth, early yesterday morning, and stole about £l7 in money, an overcoat and a pair of trousers. A sick man in a room was awakened by an intruder, who apologised when he found the room occupied. It is alleged he secured a pair of trousers, which contained £9, in the next room. The owner of the trousers chased the thief but was handicapped by the lack of his pants. The thief left his overcoat behind.
About £8 was taken from the Grosvenor Hotel, which was visited about 6 a.m. The booty included two wallets. A £25 watch was overlooked, as was a roll of notes in a pocket.
