IMPROVEMENT AT HAMILTON. deficit nearly-extinguished.
By Telegraph-Press Association. Hamilton, July 15. Four months ago the accounts of St. Peter’s Cathedral chapter showed a de ficit of £3OO. Since then the duplex envelope system has been placed on a better basis, economy has been prac tised, and the deficit has now been rc4UWhen the chapter’s share of the income due from Lot 50, a business area owned by the church, and other outstanding receipts have come to hand, the deficit will be wiped out. The chapter will then be in a position to. employ an assistant curate, whos- services urgently needed in tne cathedial dm bequest of '£2s made to the cathedral by the late Mr. Jacob Wright, of Hamilton, has been spent in purchasing hymn books for the use of the chon and congregation.
