AUCKLAND MOTOR SMASHES
' SEVERAL PERSONS INJURED. ■ By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 16. ; Cars driven by George ,B. McCathie and H. W. Farnell collided at a road intersection at Epsom on Sunday evening. McCathie’s car capsized, pinning the eight occupants underneath. A boy, George McCathie, had his head caught between the side of the car and the road and sustained a severe gash on one side of his face. His condition last night was fairly serious, but he has since improved. Mrs. Alice McCathie sustained a fracture of the jaw, and her condition is not serious. The others were injured by broken glass. All the injured people were taken to the hospital. After treatment all -but Mrs. McCathie and the boy George were able to go home. The driver of the other car was not injured. Alwin McGregor, single, aged 34, riding a motor-cycle, collided with a lorry driven by E. Buddle and was removed to the hospital. His condition last night was serious, but has since improved.
