GERMAN CRUISER SAILS FOR SUVA.

Wellington, July 13. Tho German cruiser Emden left Clyde Quay wharf at 6.30 a.m. and proceeded to Miramar, where a- supply of oil fuel was obtained. At about 10 o’clock the vessel left for Suva.

There were many people at the final point of departure and a great deal of enthusiasm was shown by those on shore and on the wharf.

It is the intention of Capt. Arnauld de la Periere to wireless his farewell meS' sages to the Governor-General, the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) and others.

The Governor-General has received the following message from the commander of the German cruiser Emden: “On departure from Wellington and the Dominion of New Zealand I would like to tender to your Excellency on behalf of all the personnel of my shm my deep gratitude for all the courtesy and hospitality extended by your Excellency and my humble request that this may be conveyed to all concerned. With highest regards and best wishes io. your Excellency and to the Dominion.—• (Signed) Von Arnauld de la Periere.”
