CHESS AND DRAUGHTS
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB ACTIVITIES
The New Plymouth Chess and Draughts Club team has been selected to play in a match with Hawera next Wednesday evening, either at Stratford or Eltham. The players are: Draughts, Chant, Davy, Gensen, Will and Sid Martin; emergencies, Walshe and Leighton. Chess: H. H. Woods, Arlow, J. Bruce, G. Grey and Hine; emergencies, Barnes and Medley. The play-off of the tie for the draughts championship of the club resulted in C. D. Chard winning from J. Bruce. Those competing in the draughts were Chant, Davy, Walshe, Leighton, Medley and C. DundG. G. Davy proved the winner.
