BABY DEAD; MOTHER VERY ILL.

Sydney, July 13. As the result of a tragedy in the suburb of Chatswood this morning an eleven-months-old baby was suffocated bv her mother, Josephine Pattinson, who is now in hospital suffering from the effects of gas. The woman was found lying on the fi° or with her head in the oven and the baby in her arms. The mother has been m ill-health fo some time.
