TE ROTI. (From Our Own Correspondent). A meeting of the school committee took place on Friday evening. There were present: Messrs. Condon (chairman), Clemerts (secretary), Mortlock and Bloor, Mrs. Finch reported that the roll number was lowered owing to changes of families in tho district, but there were other children who would be attending after the winter months. The attendance had been badly affected owing to an epidemic of mild influenza, Tho committee decided to a man to attend io the fences. The playing area needs enlarging, and trees require to be cut down, so a working bee will undertake the work during the next term holidays. The committee also will arrange for transit of pupils to and from the Eltham competitions. Mr. Henry visited the school last week and conducted the annual examination. PERSONAL. Mrs. Cleaver, senior, is visiting New Plymouth. Miss Eileen Hurley is spending a holiday in New Plymouth. Miss Cleaver is visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H. Cleaver. Mrs. Worsley is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Crann. Messrs, Cassidy and Rowe have returned from a trip to Australia. Mr. Condon has returned from a tour of the (South Island. Mr. Ferron has returned from a holiday spent in the South Island.
