HOME-MADE PLANE CRASHES
COMPLETE WRECK AT AUCKLAND
By Telegraph. —Press Association. Auckland, July 10. A home-made aeroplane, piloted by E. Everson, of Ponsonby, was completely wrecked at the Mangere speedway this morning at daylight. , tn™ The engine was started from the top of a rid<re. The wheels of the machine bumped 'over the projecting ground, and the plane nose-dived and crashed into the soft-earth on the speedway, CO-feet below. The pilot, though dazed scrambled out, otherwise uninjured. Ihe engine was twisted upside down, tae back of the machine was broken, and the woodwork along the cockpit badly splintered. , , A Everson said the machine nad cosu him £6O to build. lie was determined to succeed with another machine.
