SHAKEN DISTRICT NEEDS HAY
PROMPT RESPONSE IN BLENHEIM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, July 9. Yesterday afternoon the Mayor, Mr. McKenzie, received a telegram from Mr. Harkness, the Mayor of Westport, appealing for 20 tons of hay, chaff and other fodder for the stock in Seddonvillc district, where the fields were covered with- silt". The Mayor referred the matter to the Merchants’ Association, who got busy with such effect that 25 tons were shipped by the Komata to-day and more is to follow. Several farmers have come forward with offers of fodder for the purpose.
ought to be to develop markets with nations who believe in international trade and are willing to buy as well am to sell.
