GENERAL ITEMS. Possessing a public appeal on account of its being organised to swell the earthquake relief funds, and described as virtually the ball of the season, the dance to be held in the Stratford town hall on Thursday week by the recently formed West Coast Committee merits support from residents of Stratford and district. Old time and modern dances, a special orchestra, good floor and sit-down supper are the chief items of an excellent bill of fare. Farmers of the Alidhirst district are reminded of the meeting to be held in the Alidhirst hall to-night to arrange for the continuation of the bobby calf pool.
