Results of the first round of the open rinks competition in the bowling carnival here include: Ives (New Zealand) beat Stevenson (New Zealand) 28 —11; Morgan (New Zealand) beat Fowkes (New Zealand) 28—11; Caughley (Fiji) defeated Woolf (New Zealand) 24—19.
