SCOTTISH INGLESIDE

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL GATHERING The third Ingleside of the season was held by the New Plymouth Caledonian Society in the Agricultural Hall last night, _ and was even more successful than its predecessors. After Chieftain D. E. Brown had been played in with all ceremonial by Pipe-Major A. S. Kirkland, Pipe-Ser-geant R. Q. Shepherd and Pipers Macdonald and G. S. Goble, over 200 couples took part in national, old-time and modern dances, the music for the latter being supplied by McNeill’s orchestra. In the honoured place at supper was the haggis made 'by A. F. Aldie. The ode was recited with true Scottish savagery by Chieftain Brown. During the evening songs were sung by Mrs. A. B. MacDonald and Messrs F. Baird and N. H. Papakura. The accompaniste was Mias M. Crawshaw. A special feature of the evening was a double sword dance by the Misses M. Abram, C. Roebuck, M. Anderson and J. Cur-sons, four of Miss MacLachlan’s pupils. The masters of ceremonies for the evening were Messrs A. M. MacDiarmid and P. Corkill.
