PILOT DECLARED DRUNKEN

TRAGIC AIR CRASH AT NEW YORK. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, July 5. A sensation has been caused by an official announcement by the city toxicologist, Dr. Goettler, that Wolmer Stultz, the airman who crashed with two companions was “very drunk at the time of his death.” The dead airman has already been declared responsible for the crash. The authorities will discharge all pilots found drinking. Stultz, who piloted Miss Earhart across the Atlantic, was killed at Roosevelt . Field in a spectacular crash with two companions, when the biplane in which Stultz rose - with the intention of stunting went into a tailspin at 200 feet, spun down at speed and struck the ground with a terrific noise, barely missing a motor-truck, in which two mpn were sitting;"' i -'Hfs i?6tnj)£ifT6iiB -vfere- killed instantly, and Stultz died in hospital shortly afterwards.
