4000 FIREFIGHTERS AT WORK dying embers rekindled By Telegraph.—Press Association. Australian Press Association. United Service. New York, July 3. A San Francisco message states that a fire which broke out on Tuesday in a wealthy .section of Mill City, across the Golden Gate, destroyed 130 houses, the estimated loss being 1,000,000 dollars (about) £200,000). The fire wag brought under control after midnight, but was re-started by flying embers this morning, and is being fought by 4000 fire-fighters.
