GOVERNMENT MAY REFUND COST
By Tel. graph.— Press Association
Wellington, Jan. 26. Replying to a deputation from the Manawatu Aero Club as’ ing for official recognition from the Government, the lion. T. M. M ilford said if the club complied with all the conditions laid down he would be only too glad to give them recognition. They would have to have a qualified instructor and a ground engineer, who would be responsible for the maintenance in an airworthy condition of aircraft and equipment. There was uo possibility during the present .financial year of the Government assisting the club in purchasing a machine, but he. could say quite fairly that if the club purchased an aeroplane at a price not exceeding £lOOO, the Government would help it. Subject to Cabinet’s ratification, the money would be refunded during the. next financial year.
