BUSH FIRES IN QUEENSLAND
FLAMES SPREAD MENACINGLY. By Telegraph—Press Assn. Copylight. Received Oct. 10, 7.5 p.m. Brisbane, Oct. 10. Bush fires are sweeping the main Toowoomba Range. A thousand acres were burnt last night. The flames are spreading in a menacing way. The Spring Bluff railway station and settlement are the centre of a fierce conflagration. The country is ablaze for miles alongside the line.
