AMERICAN WOMEN’S HEALTH

EFFECT OF CIGARETTE-SMOKING. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Oct. 10, 7.50 p.m. Boston, Oct. 10. American girls and women are seriously injuring health and beauty by excessive cigarette smoking, states Dr. Schlink, Royal Prince Albert Hospital, Sydney, who is attending the clinical congress of the American College of Surgeons here. “Women who smoke incessantly arc becoming extremely nervous, neurotic and typical nerve subjects for hospitals and specialists. Smoking and drinking in moderation, however, will not affect women,” he added, “but it seems they smoke continuously because they have all day to do it.”
