SERIOUS FIRE IN LEVIN

BUSINESS PREMISES DAMAGED. By Telesra-Pir. —Press Association. Levin, Oct. 8. A serious fire occurred late on Saturday night in premises occupied by Ince and Co., drapers; G. D. Hamilton, accountant; V. Henderson, tailor; Miss Williams, dressmaker, the three latter occupying the first floor. The file had a strong hold when the alarm was given and, though confined to the blwk where it originated, the stocks and ouildinge were .a total loss. The insurances are: Ince’s stock £SOCO, fittings £5OO, in the South British Office; Hamilton, office furniture, £lOO in the British Traders Office. The building belonged to the Stiles and Matheson estate and was insured for £3OOO in the British Traders Office. The other tenants were uninsured. The cause of thi outbreak is unknown.
