“WINNING OF BARBARA WORTH.” A great photoplay of the American desert, Henry King’s production of “The Winning of Barbara Worth,” is to be shown at Everybody’s Theatre tonight, to-morrow and Wednesday. Based on the famous novel of the same name, the motion picture version loses none of the power of the Harold Bell Wright story which thrilled more than ten million readers. The tense and > romantic story of the water reclamation of the vast western wastelands is the theme of the picture. It opens with the first tricklings of humanity coming slowly to the desert. It portrays the sufferings, trials and disappointments of the pioneer,, and unlike most carries the work of reclamation through to ultimate success affording, by the way, interesting education on that great and important work—irrigation. Ronald Colman, Vilma Banky and Gary Cooper are the featured players and are supported by a powerful cast, which includes E. J. Ratcliffe, Paul McAllister, Clyde Cook and Edwin Connelly. The comedy element of the production is in the hands of Clyde Cook, well-known Australian comedian, who plays Tex, an old desert rat, and Erwin Connelly, as “Pat,” his two-fisted Irish partner. “The Winning of Barbara Worth” depicts the struggle of a - courageous group who fought and suffered that the vast desert wastes might he~tumed into fertile country. “The Winning of Barbara Worth” has had extended Reasons in the cities and has proved to be an unusually interesting film.• • - t
