ACROSS U.S.A. IN 50 HOURS
NEW TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. United Service. ■ New York, May 10. A national transportation system combining aeroplanes and the fastest trains is being inaugurated to cut the time from New York to San Francisco by exactly tv o days. There will be parallel rail and air services to avoid tiring passengers unduly by prolonged air flights. The tourist could start early in the morning from New York, fly all day to Chicago and there take a night train and get a comfortable sleep to Omaha, catch an aeroplane again next morning, and arrive at. San Francisco on a train 60 hours after leaving home. The Pennsylvania Railways and the National Air'Transport Company, with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in the west, are handling the scheme.
