CAMPAIGN TO RAISE FUNDS. Bj Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, May 16. For some time the Government has kept open a standing offer to give the site at Mt. Cook and £lOO,OOO for a National War Memorial Museum and Art Gallery if the citizens of Wellington will subscribe another £lOO,OOO. The Mayor informed the meeting that £56,000 had already been subscribed in sums of £lOOO to £15,000. A powerful committee has been set up to push the campaign. Subscriptions will bo invited outside Wellington as the war memorial is a national matter.
