PLOTTER ACQUITTED OF TREASON. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 15, 7.30 p.m. Bucharest, Nov. 14. M. Manoileseu, an ex-Minister, was acquitted on a charge of treason arising out of his complicity in the conspiracy to enthrone Prince Carol as King of Roumania. He was recently arrested on the frontier as he was returning home from Paris, where he had been in consultation with the prince. There were incriminating letters found in his possession.
Manoileseu, in defence, claimed he wag loyal to the throne, and had done nothing unlawful. He never had treasonable ideas, nor bad lie planned a rising. He went to Paris on private 'business, Hie action in carrying back letters from Prince Carol was merely incidental. Carol only wishes to return as regent for his son Michael.
