THE EMPIRE THEATRE -f FAMILY NIGHT SCREENING. The seven reel Paramount screen version of Rex Beach’s “Padlocked” will be screened for the last time to-night at tho Empire 'Theatre. Other films will include the ninth of “The Collegian” series, a news reel and travelogue. Everybody's orchestra will provide the music. Uliildren will be admitted for sixpence this evening. To-morrow’s change of programme will include two include two star features. Harry Carey, the popular Western star, will appear in his latest action drama “Tiger Thompson,” on a double bill with the First National special attraction “Three Hours.” This dramatic feature has beautiful Corinne Griffith as the star. A brilliant array of screen talent will support the star in this latest offering, including John Bowers, Hobart Bosworth, Paul Ellis, Ann Schaefer and Mary Louise Miller. “Tiger Thompson” and “Three Hours” will be shown Tor a three night season.

THE PEOPLE’S. DOUBLE STAR FEATURE BILL. Commencing at 7.45 to-night at the People’s, is the final screening of a splendid double star feature programme which affords a delightful evening’s entertainment. In the first star picture, “Sky High Saunders,” Al. Wilson, the celebrated stunt aviator, appears in the principal role, and is ably supported by a cast of clever artists. A series of thrilling escapades including some remarkable feats in mid-air, culminates in a climax that rounds off what is considered to be one of the most entertaining aeroplane pictures seen in years. George O’Hara, the popular star, is featured in the second picture, “Yours to Command,” a sparkling .and thrilling picture of youth, romance, zip and dash. The supporting reels include a “Snookunis” Comedy, and an Empire News Topical. Betty Compson, in “The Belle of Broadway,” a stirring' story of the human side of stage lite, is to be shown Thursday and Friday.

•BABES IN THE WOOD.” TOWN HALL-STRATFORD. “A peep into Fairyland” would aptly •describe the scene at the Town Hall, Stratford, on Friday evening next, when Miss Elwyn Riley and her pupils will stage “The Babes in the Wood.” The spectacle to be presented will be one of Outstanding brilliance, and in the galaxy of gay and pretty costumes, the sheen and shimmer of silks and satins, the flash and sparkle of gold and si'ver, and the harmonious blending of rich colour, will provide a pageant of uivarying interest and arresting beauty. A characteristic of Miss Riley’s previous recitals, ballet and toe-dancing, at which her pupils excel, will be prominent. The Carnival Ballet in the second act is presented on a very lavish scale, and the gay scene is depicted in all its delightful Revelry with choruses, ballets, and gorgeous costumes. For Iweekv the young pupils have been practising, and the recital bids fair to be one of the most beautiful and most diverting ever produced in Stratford. The box plan is now open at Grubb’s, and intending patrons would Ise well advised to book, seats. There is no extra charge for booking, and no tax.
