RESTRICTION ON TRADING

Thirty-three states, including the United States and Egypt, non-membere of the League of Nations, as well as separate delegations from Canada, Australia, India and the Free State, are attending a conference convened by the League to consider the possible abolition of import ami ' export prohibitions and restrictions other than Customs duties. Mynheer Coli.ii>, ex-Premier of Holland, was appointed president. Sir Sydney Chapman, permanent .sec-, fetary of'the Board of Trade and head of the British delegation, said he hoped the conference - would proceed cautiously and seek a compromise rather than lay .down .rigid regulations.
