CONFERENCE ON RADIO

PERMANENT COMMITTEE SUGGESTED By Telegraph.—Press Association. Washington, Oct. 14. The creation of a permanent international consulting committee to consider all technical and allied questions connected with radio services was approved by the technical committee of the Radio Conference by a vote of 24 to 4, over the opposition of the United States. The Canadian, Rumanian and the lotted States opposition is believed to be based on the fear that the creation of such a committee would prove the initial step towards merging the radio telegraph and international convention, to the latter of which the United States is not a signatory. Delegates to the radio conference have arrived for an inspection tour of the highpower transmitting stations of the Radio Corporation of America at Long Island. The delegates will be given a dinner upon ’heir return to New Y'ork, and will inspect the National Broadcasting Company’s new studios,. returning to Washington on October 16.
