WEDDING.

* WHEELER—LONG. The wedding was celebrated in the Presbyterian Church, Otane, on Wednesday, October 12, of Vera Elizabeth, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Webb Long, Melford Road, Palmerston North (late of Stratford), and Frederick Arthur, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Wheeler, of Otane, the Rev. F. W. Robertson officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father", looked charmj in v in a frock of apricot broche crepe-ide-chene, and crinoline hat to tone. She carried a lovely bouquet to match her |dress, and wore the bridegroom's gift, ■ a pearl bracelet. The bridesmaid, Miss - Annie Wheeler (sister of the brideI groom) wore a pale heliotrope frock and i black crinoline hat. She also carried a bouquet to tone with her dress and wore a pearl and topaz brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were fulfilled by Mr. J. Stephens. After the ceremony a few relatives and intimate friends were entertained at afternoon tea at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, when the customary toasts were honoured. Later on the couple departed on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a bois-de-rose repp coat and felt hat to tone. The presents were numerous, the bride’s gift to the bridegroom being a travelling rug.
