HONEYMOON BY FORGERY
CASE OF MENTAL DEFICIENCY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, May 31. "This man is mentally deficient. He has recently married, and the wherewithal for the honeymoon came from the forging of these 11 cheques, representing £146,” said Mr. Upham in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when a fairly young man whose name was suppressed in the meantime, was charged on 11 counts with having forged the cheques. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. ' Bail was allowed.
